The Shop
Every franc counts! Students Matteo Markel and Zhen Johnen are working closely with the school board to open a store where students will be able to sell homemade items to raise money for various causes. In relation to ISZL Aquaponics, however, we intend on using this to sell some of our products to help fund the Ghana trips, as well as continue our research on the system.
Students are currently renovating both the interior and exterior of the trailer to better fit our needs and school spirit.
Developing Sensors
The fish are what keep the whole system running, therefore it is crucial that we take proper care of them, so they stay happy and healthy. Sensors in our system notify us if certain parameters like temperature or pH exceed certain levels that would endanger our fish. Students Karim Malik and Frederick Steinmann are developing cheaper alternatives to be used for the system in Ghana.
Promotion
Students Mathis Lecomte and Dana (Caroline) Villamin are working to reach out beyond our school’s community to promote and educate others about our cause. This takes the form of this student-made website as well as our student-run Instagram! Their long-term goal is to connect with larger companies that we can collaborate with to help fund and fuel our various projects.
