2016
This was the first year that we started to install the aquaponics system in Kokrobite. The team built the first fish tank out of recycled PET bottles and cement, making it even more environmentally friendly!
2017
Building on last year’s achievements, the team focused on building a much larger aquaponics tank that would be able to hold much more fish. The final product measured around 2500 liters. In addition to this, they also built a water purification system that would eventually be used for a future well!
2018
We continued to work on the Kokrobite system this year and were able to construct a second large tank for keeping fish, as well as 2 plant trays to grow their future crops in.
2019
While continuing the installation of an aquaponics system, the team constructed the well and incorporated it with the water purification system, giving the community a new clean source of water.
